This is potentially a historically important early Viennese bass. Under blacklight a faint (16) can be seen written after 17– on the label. This bass features a deep, dark brown varnish, hatpeg tuners, and a flat back. The slight warp to the pegbox is due to the aging of the wood and not of any structural concern. With its rich, dark, mellow tone, this bass would be perfect as an orchestral or solo instrument. This bass was owned by the late Inez Wyrick.
